On 17 February 2005, Anders Ahlqvist, Professor of Old and Middle Irish and Celtic Philology at the National University of Ireland, Galway, Professor of Celtic Languages and Literature at Utrecht University and Docent of Celtic at Helsingfors University, celebrated his 60th birthday. In view of his varied and always lucid scholarly activities, some of his friends have taken the initiative to honour him with a Festschrift .
